I am not worthy of all the faithfulness and unfailing love you have shown to me, your servant. When I left home, I owned nothing except a walking stick, and now my household fills two camps! (NLT)
Jacob in fairness to God, though he was still passing through stuffs acknowledged God’s immense goodness. This deep-hearted thankfulness will not only inspire more capacity to trust in God but also make you void of anxiety and impatience. He was very specific in giving thanks to God. “For with my staff I passed over this Jordan; and now I am become two bands. He was saying I was uncertain of what lies ahead when I was passing over Jordan but now, I am full of glory and abundance.
Beloved, how specific are you in expressing God goodness over your life in year 2022 now that you are in year 2023. The thankful heart in Jacob produced a threat free relationship with God. Because as far as he is concerned, he had no righteousness that could merit God goodness unlike some that brag about themselves before God courtesy of the Pharisees. Praise produces humility of heart and it also flows out of humility. Hallelujah as you Praise Him.
