Text:
Eph.6.16 “Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked”.
The fiery darts of the wicked are anything that discourages or distracts us in our walk with God. It is anything that destroys what we have (including material possessions), or anything that entices us to curse God. This definition of “fiery darts is based on the first couple of chapters of the book of Job. When we experience these things, the enemy is hoping that we react in a negative manner. These “fiery darts” can result in a loss of faith and separation from God. There are some hidden fiery darts that the Devil throws at the believer. Examples are: Pride : Pride appears innocent but it is the deadliest of darts, as it leads us to our own destruction. Prov 16:18. Deception: This is also a fiery dart of the wicked. We are deceived to think of ourselves in ways that are contrary to God's thought. It follows pride. Gala 6:3. Loneliness: The spirit of loneliness is also a fiery dart of the devil. How can a child of God be lonely when your Heavenly Father said that He will never leave you nor forsake you? Thus, God placed His word (Jesus Christ) and Holy spirit in your heart. All of the above-mentioned fiery darts can be quenched by the shield of faith. God is our shield Ps.28:7. God protects us from all evil. You can find Power to quench the fiery darts of the wicked in the Word of God. You need to read, meditate and declare the Word of God from time to time.
