TEXT: Gal.2.20
“I myself no longer live, but Christ lives in me. So, I live my life in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” (NLT)
In the scripture above, the word “I myself” represent the flesh i.e. motion, urge, desires. It is actions, speech, reactions that flow out of me. Paul says he now allows Christ that is in him to Live out His Nature through him (Paul) The word “Christ lives in me” describes the submission of Paul to the very nature of Christ that lives in Him. By allowing the life of Christ in him to Flow out, he discovers his dominion over the flesh. He discovers he is no longer under the influence of the dictates of his flesh. Such a lifestyle will start showing forth Love that Produces joy, peace, gentleness, meekness etc. as spelt out in Gal 5: 19. This is what the faith in the Son of God produces in us.Gal.5.16 – 17 “I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish”. (NKJV)The only way to subdue the flesh, is to yield oneself to the leading of the Holy Spirit. This leading will produce in us the evidence that Christ dwells in us. When you choose to align your actions with the Will of Christ that is in you, you gradually gain mastery over the works of the flesh. If you will exercise dominion over the flesh, you must live in obedience to the instructions of Christ that is in you through the power of the Holy Ghost. You continually Yield to What the Holy Ghost wants above what the flesh wants.
PRAYER POINTS
Thank You Jesus, that I have Dominion over the flesh by trusting in You. Holy Spirit, create in me the urge to live a crucified life. Holy Spirit, teach me to yield myself to Your desires i.e. Love, Joy, Gentleness, Giving etc. O Lord, let the fruit of the Spirit abound among all members of Christlike Assembly worldwide. O Lord, let the Holy Spirit led life abound more and more in your servant Pst Mrs. Odunayo Joshua Ketiku and her children. Amen.
