JESUS IN OUR OFFICE
SCRIPTURE:
Proverbs 22:29 “Seest thou a man diligent in business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean man.”
Do you see your office as an opportunity to serve God? Some workers, such as those in overt ministry roles e.g. Pastors, Missionaries or those in helping professions e.g. teachers, nurses, seem to have an easier answer to this question. Our office work does Matter to God. Our work is a means to serve God. It Presents to us the opportunity to Represent Him. Three reasons God cares about your office.
◾God wants to mold you in your office. Through our work, God molds our character and values. God uses our work for our professional, personal and Spiritual formation. He uses work to change us for the better.
◾God wants to meet you in your office. God cares about your office because God cares about you. For many Christians, there is tendency to separate our lives of weekend worship from weekday work, but God is not interested in just meeting you on Sunday morning or wherever you gather for worship, God wants to meet with you at your duty post as well. He wants you to recognize His presence with you in your office.
◾God wants to minister through you in your office.
Your office is one of the main pathways through which you add values to the lives of those around you.
PRAYER POINTS
Almighty God, Thank You for my job, my employers and coworkers. I invite You Jesus to be with me today, may I perform each task with diligence, patience and to the best of my ability. Help me to handle each challenge with wisdom. Work in me and through me today. Almighty Father, whose hands hold all matters of life, give us grace of Success in the work that we do and suffer us not to fail in Jesus Name. Amen.
