Rom.12.1 “Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God–this is your spiritual act of worship.”(NIV)
Sacrifice here means giving to the Lord whatever He requires of our time, our earthy possession and our energies to further His work. It is going the extra mile for the kingdom of God and His righteousness (Mathew 6:33). Our willingness to sacrifice is an indication of our devotion to God. The Bible says in Ps.51.17 "The sacrifice you want is a broken spirit. A broken and repentant heart, O God, you will not despise" (NLT). To be the sacrifice therefore is to give God your totality: your life, your time, your money, your property. Whatever is demanded of you by Him must be surrendered to Him. Apart from your earthly things, He wants you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice. God wants us to be holy. So that we can be acceptable by Him. Without holiness, no one can see God. Sacrifices that pleases God.
1) Sacrifice of your lips. Heb.13.15 "With Jesus' help, let us continually offer our sacrifice of praise to God by proclaiming the glory of his name." (NLT)
2) Sacrifice of your time. This is generally giving to one another. According to the new testament, it involves giving to your enemies generously.
3) Sacrifice of your life.

Lord I thank You for Your loving kindness and tender mercy. Lord, today I offer You my body as a living sacrifice. I am available to You. I give everything I have to You. Show me Your good, pleasing and perfect will in Jesus name. Lord help every member of Christlike Assembly to present their bodies as a living sacrifice. Holy and acceptable unto God.
