TEXT: Matt.15:23
“But Jesus gave her no reply–not even a word. Then his disciples urged him to send her away. “Tell her to leave,” they said. “She is bothering us with all her begging.” (NLT)
The woman in question had every reason to give up for being ignored. As if Jesus was saying I don’t have your time! But the woman never took no for an answer. She persisted on her request to Jesus. She kept on following him to the extent that the disciples protested against her. As if ignoring her was not enough, when Jesus Christ would break the silence in verse 24 “Then he said to the woman, “I was sent only to help the people of Israel–God’s lost sheep–not the Gentiles.” (NLT). Even at this she came and worshiped Him and still insisted He should help. Verse 26 was the bombshell that should send the woman back home empty handed “It isn’t right to take food from the children and throw it to the dogs,” Can you hear that?!
- Jesus ignored her,
- Jesus said I am not sent to you.
- Jesus said she is a dog. Against all these, the woman did not give up she said: “Yes, Lord,” she replied, “but even dogs are permitted to eat crumbs that fall beneath their master’s table.” Jesus commended her ‘never- give up’ faith and approved her miracle. Beloved, you are the next on the list. Not giving up is rewarding with God. If you will not give up on that desire, expectations, marriage, children, business, you will see God come your way this month in Jesus name.
PRAYER POINTS
Thank You Lord that through Your Word I can see reasons why I should not give up on my life. Holy Spirit help me. I refuse to give in to pressure but instead I hold on to the Word of God to my life. Uphold Christlike Assembly members with Your right hand of righteousness to the end.
