Devotional for: 7th May
TEXT: Ps.91.1 – “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”
The First thing we must know is that God Almighty has a Secret Place. One of the things that make God is that He has secrets. It is a secret place, means it has to be searched out. It is a place that offers security and protection and other benefits. Such benefits are listed in the scripture for today but because of space, we will mention just three of them:
1). God becomes the Refugee’s Fortress. A place of hiding in times of war
2). Deliverance Is guaranteed to the dwellers of that secret place.
3). Escape from every evil is sure. What is this secret place? It’s not Physical at all, It connotes the Presence of God. It is the Realm to experience the Supernatural Dimension of God. It is a place of Fellowship that involves Prayer, Studying of the Word and Walking in the Word. To dwell in the secret place therefore means to live in a place of continually drawing near to the Father through communion. The only condition is that we must have pure desire to know Him more. The word “dwells” came from Hebrew word “Yashab” which means to sit down, settle, remain and inhabit. As you can see dwelling in God’s presence is a conscious choice. It is something we decide to do, not out of necessity or grudge but out of willing heart. It is not for lazy people
PRAYER POINTS
Lord, I thank You for the salvation of my soul and Your protection over me and my family. I thank for choosing me to dwell in Your secret place and because I have done so, I remain stable and fixed under Your Shadow in Jesus name. Lord give me the grace not to be distracted. Give every member of Christ like family the grace to dwell in the secret place of God almighty. Lord help Your servant Pst (Mrs.) Odunayo Omotayo Joshua Ketiku and her children to continually dwell in the secret place in Jesus name. Thank You for answered prayers.
