27TH MARCH.
SCRIPTURE: Phil 2: 3-4.
“Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others”Unhealthy competition is the type that makes one to compare himself or herself with others negatively. It leads to strife, jealousy, envy, hatred, rivalry and conflict. Gal 5:20-21. When you are in unhealthy competition with others, you will not be happy with the success of others; in fact, you get angry at yourself thinking that God has forgotten you which makes you think others are better than you. You lack contentment, trust in God and in others. Unhealthy competition is not Christlike, it must be seriously dealt with. We can disagree with one another but watch carefully how you do it and quickly resolve in love. If you are not careful, it can rob you of your joy. It can cause distrust and division among brethren in the house of God and in the family. Finally, I want you to know that healthy competition can be good in many areas of life because it encourages excellence and efficiency. We are encouraged therefore to shun unhealthy competition that leads to crisis.
